Kenya’s waterfalls vary from dramatic plunges deep in the montane forests to serene cascades surrounded by tea plantations. The former, representing Kenya’s highest mountain and Kenya’s largest alpine theatre is famous for its breathtaking landscapes, scenic beauty and stunning waterfalls.

The tallest in Kenya, cascading in three tiers on a drop of 273 ms is Karuru Falls found within the Aberdare National Park in Central Kenya. Tucked away within this park and the encircling forest reserve are a great many smaller but charming waterfalls. In not at all rare to come across, within lush tea fields surrounded by healthful greenery and calm atmosphere, little-known and untravelled waterfalls. Just above the coastal shelf in the south of Kenya is one of the most famous falls in Kenya. Nestled in the coastal forest of Shimba Hills, Sheldrick Falls drops about 25 meters into a pool below. What it lacks in height is wholly made up for stunning vistas and wildlife within the Shimba Hills National Reserve. Visitors can hike through the tropical forest to reach the falls and enjoy a refreshing dip in the pool.
