Beaches I Creeks in Lamu

Kizingoni Beach: Unspoiled Remote Paradise
The beautiful beach at Shela, where the Peponi Hotel stands sentinel, has now become well known. But there are many other spectacular stretches of golden sands – at Kipungani and Kizingoni reached by sailing dhow. Set amongst dunes on this unspoiled remote southwest of Lamu Island, Kizingo Lodge is a deserving rustic little place, with guest accommodation in 8 bandas and providing access to an engaging range of activities. Kizingoni Beach also is served by Kizingoni Villas, fully furnished in the Arab style, with lovely hardwood furniture and complement fabrics, fittings and fixtures sourced from Lamu, Morocco and the Far East, and Kizingo Lamu Island Resort. The cottages, a collection of 1 and 2 bedroom beach bandas, have access to a pleasant pool specially designed for couples and family.

Kenya is renowned for its stunning coastline along the Indian Ocean, offering a variety of beautiful beaches that cater to different preferences – from bustling resorts to quiet, secluded coves and picture-postcard creeks. Diani Beach, known for its powdery white sands and turquoise waters, is, perhaps, the most popular. Yet, each offers a unique experience, in almost always perfect tropical weather.
