Skydive Diani: Hurrah! It’s Time to Fly

Look where you may but few places in East Africa can better the epic sky diving adventure at Skydive Diani, above Africa’s top rated coastline. Established in 2013 to champion and to grow sport parachuting in Kenya, Skydive Diani has earned a great reputation for offering memorable experiences and guaranteed highs. They offer 4 kinds of jumps: Tandem, Jump School, Jump for Charity and The Sky Gods. What they have in common is the view of Diani Beach from a unique perspective. The well-liked Tandem Jump, where two people jump out of the plane together, strapped to one another during the entire descent, starts with a safety brief from the guide, who operates all the gear, before you are cleared to take on the skies.

After getting geared up, and a light confab to boost your courage and enthusiasm, you board the plane for a short 15-minute scenic flight, appreciating the mutable view as you climb to altitude. As you approach the exit point, you will be securely attached to the front of your instructor, then start moving towards the door of the plane. Sitting at the edge of the plane, wind blasting in your face, sweaty palms and heart beating fast, the exhilaration is palpable as you hang your feet outside the aircraft and look at the ground over 3,600 m below. Hurrah! It’s time to fly! 3… 2… 1… Jump! Earthbound, you accelerate to 200 km/h for 50 seconds of free fall before your guide opens the parachute. Alas! This is tandem skydiving in Kenya!

Thanks to its diverse landscape, Kenya offers a wide range of outdoor adventures. Mount Kenya, Africa’s second-highest peak, offers various climbing routes. Experience a unique perspective of Kenya’s wildlife and landscapes with a hot air balloon safari over Masai Mara. At the coast, enjoy activities such as snorkeling, scuba diving, kite surfing, and boat tours to explore coral reefs and marine life.

Located along the Kenyan coast, and a hub renowned for its pristine beaches, rich cultural heritage, and breathtaking landscapes, Kwale County uniquely combines two of Kenya’s unsurpassed offerings – beach and safari. Kwale County is also a melting pot of coastal traditions, modern development, farming and trade to boot.
